Harman Chief Financial Officer Herbert Parker has been named one of America's most powerful corporate executives by Black Enterprise Magazine.
The magazine's February 2009 cover story named Mr. Parker to the list, which was compiled after six months of intensive research to identify dynamic, high-level professionals who are leading and re-engineering a vast array of businesses.
Mr. Parker is joined on the list by CEOs and other executives from corporations such as American Express, Aetna, AT&T, Citigroup, Dow Chemical, FedEx, General Mills, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, PepsiCo, and Tyco International. Each executive holds a senior management position at one of the top 1,000 publicly traded companies or at an international corporation grossing revenues of $1 billion or more.
Mr. Parker has been CFO at Harman International since May 2008 after an accomplished career at ABB, the global power and automation technology group. He has more than 25 years of overseas experience in corporate finance, including running divisions in Australia, China and Switzerland for ABB.
