AKG Microphones and Headphones Make Shaw-Blades Sound at Home

06-February-2008

Who: Shaw-Blades, a rock duo that is comprised of Tommy Shaw, guitarist/vocalist from Styx, and Jack Blades, bassist/vocalist from Night Ranger. AKG (www.AKG.com), a leading manufacturer of studio microphones, broadcast and live sound equipment, as well as headphones for consumers.

What: AKG and Shaw-Blades partnered up to create a special two-day concert event during Macworld 2008, San Francisco where special concert goers were able to experience music the way it was intended to be listened to. The two concerts celebrated the sound quality of AKG microphones and headphones that have been used on almost every album released over the past 30 years. Over 50 attendees were given AKG wireless headphones which offered the listeners a way to hear the artists clearly and personally. Tommy Shaw commented, "This was one of the all time favorite live vocal experiences of my career. To be able to hear each other with the same dynamic clarity as you do sitting around in your living room but with the added beauty of a studio quality mix for the listeners, created this inertia that left me physically and emotionally spent."

Pricing and Availability: In 2008, more than a dozen new AKG headphone models will be introduced. Models will range from wire and wireless earphones, headphones and ear buds. AKG customers can purchase these products at www.AKG.com. Prices will range from $50-$600.
