Window Shopping with Lexus and Mark Levinson at Harrod's of London

Few premium brands can boast of occupying four display windows at London’s legendary department store, Harrods in Knightbridge.  But that was the site shared by HARMAN audio brand Mark Levinson and its automotive partner Lexus during a recent five-week holiday showcase.  The world’s most famous luxury store provided the perfect showcase for the plush Lexus CT200h hybrid hatchback and RX450h SUV, with an exclusive presentation of premium audio from Mark Levinson.

Unlike the “look-but-don’t-touch” displays found in many similar situations, the Lexus/Mark Levinson presentation at Harrods was designed to give shoppers full access to the vehicles and their interior features.  One of the window units along Harrods’ Brompton Road façade was devoted exclusively to the latest Mark Levinson audio technology, as featured in a number of Lexus models. A Lexus Lounge completed the display, designed by Lexus in cooperation with Harrods’ own creative team.  Test drives and new vehicle orders were completed right in the stores, with support from the Lexus on-site team.

The long-standing Lexus/Mark Levinson partnership, which dates to 2001, is delighting drivers with audio systems offering up to 19 speakers, 450 watts of power and 7.1 channel surround, depending on car model.  The audio components are  specifically designed to the automotive interior, bringing drivers the same premium sound in every seat that discriminating audiophiles expect from their home systems.  The ultra-quiet CT200h hybrid is offered with a 13-speaker Mark Levinson system and six CD changer.  Billed by the automaker as the world’s first full hybrid luxury compact car, the new model is ideally suited for the congested streets and scarce parking found in many European cities.
