Holiday Magic with Bon Jovi from New York's Rockefeller Plaza

When NBC’s Today Show wanted to turn up the volume for a special pre-holiday concert, they turned first to Harman.  Our professional microphones, speakers, and amplifiers joined legendary rock group Bon Jovi to welcome the 2009 holiday season in style from New York’s Rockefeller Plaza as the event's Official Sound Partner .

Along with the on-stage action, numerous lucky fans at the Rockefeller Plaza concert were treated to samples of the latest headphones developed by our JBL brand and fashion leader Roxy.  An estimated 5,000 people filled the plaza, joined by an audience of millions nationwide.

The performance was anchored by high-fidelity speakers from our legendary JBL brand, which also provides a variety of home and personal audio products for the consumer sector.  Harman systems support  top artists and entertainment venues including Lincoln Center, the new Yankees and Mets baseball stadiums, and more than a dozen key venues for the recent Summer Olympics.  Harman audio and infotainment systems are also installed in an estimated 20 million vehicles on the road today from Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Mercedes, Porsche, Rolls Royce, Toyota and more.

Bon Jovi served as NBC's exclusive Artist in Residence during the month of November wth appearances on the Today show, Saturday Night Live, The Jay Leno Show, and NBC Nightly News.  The group’s latest album, “The Circle,” debuted during the month, continuing a successful career that spans a dozen other albums with more than 120 million copies sold worldwide.

“We are delighted that Harman could help kick off the holiday season with this exciting event,” said Dinesh C. Paliwal, Harman’s Chairman, President and CEO.  “The Today Show Concert Series has become a favorite for both New Yorkers and the millions of fans who follow the broadcast nationwide, and this special performance added some extra magic.”
