Personnel from HARMAN's Professional Division were out in force to help make the recent National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) exhibition in Anaheim, California a success for trade visitors from around the world. HARMAN took home top awards in two key product categories, and delighted show goers with its growing line of professional audio and lighting systems.
A complete HARMAN Professional concert audio and lighting system was selected to support the NAMM GoPro Stage at the Grand Plaza, which featured headlining performances by such artists as world-renowned percussionist Sheila E. and blues-rock guitarist Jonny Lang. The system included the new JBL VTX Series V20 line array loudspeakers and S25 subwoofers. Event system support and logistics were managed by San Diego-based MSI Production Services and front of house and monitor system mixing by independent live sound engineers Eric Stalhammer and Rebecca Wilson.
“We are very pleased to be part of the NAMM 2014 GoPro Stage, where attendees can always look forward to a good time, great music and experience the very latest in live sound and lighting technology,” said Brian Pickowitz, Associate Director, Live Sound and Rental Systems, HARMAN Professional Division.
On the exhibition floor, HARMAN unveiled a wide range of new professional audio and lighting products, including a new high-performance single-channel microphone system from AKG, an expanded range of plug-in reverb and special effects bundles from Lexicon, space-saving xTI 2 amplifiers from Crown Audio, multi-effect guitar pedals from DigiTech, and more. Underscoring HARMAN's longstanding commitment to the NAMM community, HARMAN Professional Division President Blake Augsburger was elected to the NAMM Board.
Two new HARMAN innovations took home prestigious TEC Awards for outstanding technical achievement. JBL's PRX700 Series loudspeakers represent an evolutionary step in the efficient use of amplifier power, rugged durability and enhanced versatility in a self-powered loudspeaker designed for challenging audio environments. AKG's K712 Pro Mastering/Reference Headphones are designed for fatigue-free comfort during extended audio sessions while providing spacious and airy sound without any compromise. TEC Award winners were selected from among more than 100 product nominations spanning 22 categories.
The NAMM Show is the world’s largest trade-only event for the music products industry, and is held each January at the Anaheim Convention Center. More than 1500 exhibitors showcased some 5000 brands at this year's event, and more than 90,000 dealers and distributors visited the show to test drive the new product offerings. A wide range of education, entertainment and networking opportunities rounded out the four-day event.
