There has been a lot of rapid development in the area of acoustics in recent years. HARMAN Automotive Division has introduced many groundbreaking innovations and set new industry standards. The acoustics area does not involve standard loudspeaker systems, but rather tailor-made premium audio systems from well-known brands such as Mark Levinson®, Lexicon®, HARMAN Kardon®, Infinity®, JBL® and JBL Professional® with pioneering simulation, loudspeaker, amplifier and signal processing technology.
Product development benefits from the extensive know-how and intensive exchange of technology between the various members of the HARMAN Group, particularly in the area of acoustics. One example of this is Logic 7 surround sound technology. This technology was originally invented for sound studios, adapted for cars, and then further optimized for implementation in our consumer and professional products.
HARMAN Automotive Division has over fifty years of experience in the development, production and integration of automotive sound systems. The first loudspeaker system was launched in 1953, while the first ex-works branded sound system in a premium car was introduced in 1983.
