Core Competency, System Integration

With over twenty years of experience in system integration, HARMAN Automotive Division is finding itself in greater demand than ever as systems become more and more complex. After all, for years the company has not just been delivering system components, but also has extensive know-how regarding the optimum integration of these components.

A distinction is made between integration on a network level and on a component/software level. Integration on a network level is about the optimal integration or networking of various hardware components. Integration on component/software level is gaining in significance with the objective of increasing functionality and flexibility while simultaneously reducing the number of components and costs.

Experience in the field of vehicle networks is an important prerequisite for system integration. Here too the Automotive Division has been defending its pole position for many years. From the CAN-bus, which since 1988 is indispensable for controlling vehicle functions such as “Light on/off”, to the introduction of the significantly lighter D2B optical buses made from polymer fibers and through to the pioneering MOST technology, HARMAN was always involved and even set the standard in decisive development processes.
