Innovations in the Area of “Green” Technologies

The themes of environment and energy efficiency are becoming the focus of more attention. Each “power consumer” in the car can make its contribution to reduced energy consumption and thus help cut emissions. Furthermore, in the case of hybrid and electric vehicles, power consumption even has a direct impact on the fuel range.

HARMAN Automotive Division recognized this in good time and is one step ahead of the competition. Many years of research have enabled the company already to offer energy-efficient GreenEdge® audio and infotainment solutions with environmentally-friendly applications. The parameters are clearly defined: more performance and functionality with less power consumption. These requirements are brilliantly fulfilled by HARMAN’s highly efficient GreenEdge® speakers and amplifiers, as well as HARMAN’s energy-saving infotainment systems. These are available as premium and entry-level/mid-level system solutions.

HARMAN Automotive Division also sees a significant growth field in intelligent energy management, i.e. the continuous analysis and monitoring of all energy consumers in the vehicle and the communication of corresponding results/recommendations, for example the prediction of energy consumption and driving distance with the current driving style or when air-conditioning is used. It is precisely here that HARMAN enjoys considerable competitive advantages with its in-depth integration competency across the entire system.

Another very interesting area will be the connection of the vehicle to the external supply infrastructure. Telematic products that allow online access to charging stations or the simple billing of energy supply are important in this respect.
