JBL Extends Partnership with 100 Thieves, Signs LA Thieves and Continues Relationship with Top Streamers

To promote inclusivity and support women in gaming, the JBL Quantum Grant with 1,000 Dreams Fund launches today

STAMFORD, Conn.  – Today JBL announces its extended commitment as the official sound partner of premiere lifestyle brand and gaming organization 100 Thieves. JBL will outfit all 100 Thieves teams and content creators with JBL Quantum gaming headsets for the ultimate competitive advantage. In addition to supporting 100 Thieves’ championship Valorant team, Team JBL is adding the LA Thieves, 100 Thieves’ Call of Duty team, to this year’s roster. The LA Thieves revealed the partnership with JBL during the 100 Thieves’ Content House Show by using JBL’s noise-cancelling Quantum headsets as part of the popular YouTube “Whisper Challenge.” In addition to gearing up the team for practice and competition, 100 Thieves and the LA Thieves will have access to the latest JBL portable speakers and lifestyle headphones for the CashApp Compound and Content House Show.

JBL will continue its relationships with top U.S. streamers Tyler Polchow (TeeP) and Ali Hassan (SypherPK). As one of the largest Call of Duty streamers on Twitch, TeeP brings his expertise as a former Call of Duty World Champion, commentator, coach, host and streamer to Team JBL. SypherPK is known as the leading educational gaming creator on YouTube and Twitch, collectively reaching an audience of nearly 10 million viewers daily. After his participation in 2020’s JBL Quantum Cup, JBL is excited to bring back SypherPK as he continues to use and feature JBL products across his gaming and lifestyle content.

The audio brand is also announcing the JBL Quantum Grant in partnership with 1,000 Dreams Fund. Conceptualized by JBL to help amplify the voices and jumpstart the careers of women in gaming and esports, JBL and 1,000 Dreams Fund are coming together to identify and support women interested in pursuing these careers by providing 30 microgrants and unique opportunities to engage with high-profile women in the industry.

“At JBL, we believe that every player matters,” said Ralph Santana, Chief Marketing Officer at HARMAN. “Following the launch of our award-winning JBL Quantum gaming headsets last year, and seeing record growth in the gaming industry throughout 2020, we are proud to partner with 1,000 Dreams Fund to create the JBL Quantum Grant to help improve gender representation and create a more inclusive environment for women in gaming.”

Content creators Brooke Bond (BrookeAB) and Kyedae Shymko (Kyedae) will be participating in the JBL Quantum Grant by offering virtual mentorship sessions with select grant winners. The two top female gamers will share tips and advice for breaking into the gaming industry, creating content and building a community.

“Through our partnership with JBL, we are committed to helping a diverse group of young women get closer to achieving their careers, including first generation college students and young women of color,” said Christie Garton, founder of 1,000 Dreams Fund. “Since its inception, 1,000 Dreams Fund has provided over $400,000 in funding for young women, and we are excited to team up with JBL to take steps toward equitable representation for women in gaming.”
